Press Agencies reports the news of the death of Bruno Giacosa, one of the most important Italian producers
It is gone today, at the age of 88 years, the famous wine producer Bruno Giacosa. He was born in Neive (CN), in the heart of the Langhe, in 1929, and he founded the Falletto farm. Today the company is in directed by his daughter Bruna.
Giacosa was inextricably linked to Barolo and Barbaresco, two excellent wines of Piedmont. An excellence for Italian viticulture.
The name Falletto derives from the name of the vineyard purchased by Mr. Giacosa in 1982, in Serralunga d’Alba. Giacosa was already the owner of the vineyards “Asili” and “Rabajà”, which produced Barbaresco since 1966.
Over the years Giacosa became a point of reference for all the other producers of the Langhe and in 2012 had received the honorary degree in gastronomic sciences.
His respect for the work of the vines and the very low yields had given rise to a consolidated production style.
