The 52nd edition of Vinitaly begins today.
The 2018 edition of the most important international wine fair will take place from 15 to 18 April at the Verona Fair.
At the inauguration the president of Veronafiere, Maurizio Danese, took part, together with the mayor of Verona, Federico Sboarina and the president of the Province of Verona, Antonio Pastorello.
There were also other politicians, including the governor of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia and the Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policies, Andrea Olivero. The ceremony also included the new president of the Senate, Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati.
At the event a lot of talks will be about the United States.
In fact, the research “The future of markets, the markets of the future: Italy first in America” will be presented, realized by Vinitaly-Nomisma Wine Monitor.
The focus will be on consumption patterns and future trends in the wine sector in the states of New York, California, Illinois, Minnesota and Winsconsin.
Campania will be present with as many as 182 companies. As a whole, Avellino dominates with its 71 companies, followed by Benevento with 36, Caserta with 29, Naples with 26 and Salerno with 20.
Numerous tastings: in particular there are three events dedicated to the volcanic territories with the Piedirosso, Falanghina and Caprettone, in collaboration with the Consorzi del Vesuvio and Campi Flegrei Ischia and Capri.
It is worth noting a reflection by the entrepreneur Giovanni Rana on the event: “To leave Italy is indispensable, our entrepreneurs must increasingly look at international market scenarios and affirm the Italian quality in the four corners of the world, also for pasta makers and producers of fresh pasta that I represent the domestic market is still a small Italy“.
