Ritmodivino was present at last Saturday’s event at the Castello della Leonessa in Montemiletto (AV). Great public participation in an event that has greatly enhanced the Irpinia of wine.
The Ciak Irpina event at the Castello della Leonessa di Montemiletto, in the province of Avellino, ended on Saturday at 9 pm.
Great participation of the public and professionals in an event that has enhanced the Irpinia of wine.
In the suggestive rooms of the baronial castle about thirty producers and also some Chinese buyers intervened, previously welcomed to Montemiletto by the mayor Agostino Frongillo.
We of Ritmodivino were among the experts, and we had the opportunity, as always, to get excited and, therefore, to get excited, with our feelings.
We met several producers, starting with the Cantina dei Monaci in Santa Paolina up to Borgodangelo winemakers in Sant’Angelo all’Esca, following a circular path that allowed us to meet also Vini Manimurci, Bellaria, Twelve Hectares, Gerardo Perillo, the Estate Scuotto, Tenuta Cavalier Pepe, Antica Hirpinia and Quintodecimo, as well as numerous other producers who have made wine their reason for living.
The wines we tasted were all of high quality, and all representative of their production area.
Particularly surprising were the Taurasi Poema of Cantina Manimurci, a wine of 2007 that surprised us, despite its age, for its still vivid strength, and for its intense aromas.
Another surprise was the Taurasi DOCG of the Azienda Agricola Bellaria, a very balanced wine both in the aromas and on the palate. A very elegant wine!
We therefore met the producers of DODICIETTARI, Milanese who fell in love with the territory of Irpinia to decide to invest in the Aglianico vineyards of our region. This is a young company that is, however, distinguishing right now for the excellent quality and structure of its wine.
Among the reds, very surprising was the Campi Taurasini Irpinia DOC of Borgodangelo, a company located in Sant’Angelo all’Esca as the Tenuta del Cavalier Pepe. Their nectar was a wine with marked notes of red fruits and spices, a beautiful product very distinctive of our territory, with a strong tannin that does not affect freshness.
Last red that we mention is the Opera Mia by Milena Pepe, which we will tell emotionally in the coming days. In fact, we were guests of Milena just a few days before Ciak Irpinia.
Among the whites, those who have most excited us were the Greco di Tufo of Quintodecimo, a wine that does not need any introduction, being a product born from the expert experience of Professor Mojo.
To mention the Decimo Sesto Greco of Tufo of the Cantina dei Monaci, characterized by intense floral aromas and a good flavor, and the Falanghina of Ancient Hirpinia, a winery of Taurasi that still produces an excellent version of the homonymous red DOCG.
A special mention is given to the Fiano Campania IGT of Tenuta Scuotto “Oi Nì”, a wine structured with floral scents that surround you and a freshness that is not forgotten.
At the end of the event, the evening was enlivened by a costume parade and medieval music.
A well-organized event in a decidedly fairy-tale location, a beautiful setting that has even enhanced the wines of this land.
